“Derek is such a competent and knowledgeable therapeutic bodyworker that he was able to relieve my lower back pain AND heal the remnants of my frozen shoulder in one session.”
“Prior to visiting Psoas Massage + Bodywork, I hadn't experienced a focused sports massage before - most of my past massages were more along the lines of spa, Thai, or general wellness sessions.”
“The staff took great care of me, took time to listen to my pain story, and specifically addressed both what I thought needed work, as well as what they perceived to be the issue.”
“She immediately put me at ease and kept an ongoing dialogue throughout each session, which made the experience feel both comfortable and intentional.”

From the reviews
In a big metropolitan city, you'd think it would be easy to find a good massage therapist. There's definitely no shortage of options in San Francisco. But I thought the search was hopeless after countless tries, until I came across Psoas Massage + Bodywork.
Just had a fantastic massage at Psoas with Ms. Day. She is my therapist of choice at Psoas, though to be fair, no matter who works on me, I always leave feeling so much better than when I entered. Back to Ms. Day with her strong hands and refined technique. Ms.
This place is so legit and I'm sharing my recommendation based on an incredible experience I had with Stella. For context, I came in with a pinched never in my upper neck that was preventing me from raising my right arm and she immediately honed in on what was going on.
When I was pregnant I somehow developed frozen shoulder in both shoulders. Not only was it incredibly painful, I wasn’t able to sleep on my side which you’re supposed to do as the baby gets bigger (sleeping on your back can lead to risks when the baby is big), so I was really anxious for my shoulders to heal.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
