What clients say about the cupping here
“Really relieved the mention in my back!”
“He’s an expert in myofascial work and helps me immensely every time I see him with a long history of chronic pain and severe injuries.”
“She’s been massaging for over 30 years so she knows how to listen to you AND your body, no one size fits all full body massage routine.”
“From the moment you walk in, there is a sense of calm that feels intentional and deeply considered.”
“Ellen is another favorite of mine for deep tissue and she is also the head of prenatal massage therapy training there.”
“The space itself is lovely, multiple rooms, good temperature, dimly lit, and always clean.”
“PRESS is one of the higher prices in the city but it’s often well worth it and MUCH better than Bathhouse next door.”
“This was my first visit - I decided to treat myself on Valentine’s Day and I’m SO glad I did.”
From the reviews
I’ve been going on and off to PRESS for a few years and today I found my therapist. Paula is incredible and I will never look back. I am more of a sports massage client and she truly targeted every part of my sore/tense body within 60 minutes. I added on the cupping and her technique is top notch.
Press Massage in Williamsburg is truly something special. From the moment you walk in, there is a sense of calm that feels intentional and deeply considered. The space is beautiful (awesome job Rachel!) without being pretentious, warm, grounding, and effortlessly inviting. The therapists are exceptional.
When I finally decided to commit to massage therapy, I was overwhelmed with all the studios and providers available in NYC. I took a chance with Press and with Krystina as my provider and I've never looked back!
Press has an amazing staff and I'm sure everyone has their own favorites but I make sure to only request Anthony and Jeremi! They are the reason I will continue to come here every month🙂↕️ Both are truly getting into my muscles (it's not just skin rubbing, which I don't like), plus they are extremely intuitive in how…
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
