From the reviews
Kathi is very knowledgeable and acupuncture has been beneficial!
When I first came to see Kathi, I was in excruciating and constant pain from TMJ disorder. A physical therapy book on TMJ helped a little (more than pain killers, which didn't help at all), but I was several months away from being able to see an orofacial pain specialist, and I was becoming more depressed that I would…
Kathi has been my acupuncturist for over 10 years. Her work helps me keep my allergies under control, helps me keep pain in my knees at bay, and helps me with other issues such as stress as they arise.
Kathi helped me with my anxiety when I was pregnant. It totally went away! Thank you Kathi!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
