From the reviews

I’ve been to Kristy soooo many times for deep tissue massages. She able to work out my deep knots. Her positive attitude is contagious. Kristy always helps me to feel physically better from the deep tissue massages but also mentally enlightened from her knowledge in being an energy worker.

I moved here 4 years ago, and it has been a challenge to find the perfect massage. Well, let me tell you I have found it in Kristy Lageson at Positively Zen Massage. When we first met it was almost like a counseling session. She really took the time to find out exactly what I needed.

Absolutely love Kristy!! I see her once a month for massages. She is able to read and feel what your body needs and work on those areas during your session. I received a gift certificate at a different facility and I have to say after having someone that personalizes your massage to your body, it's weird to have a…

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
