What clients say about the cupping here
“It felt personable and professional, and medical grade, unlike multiple previous massages I received in the past.”
From the reviews
Jen Perez is absolutely amazing!! I would give her 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend!!
I have been getting a massage once a month for a few years now. The staff at Ponessa is very nice. The therapists that I've seen have all been very considerate of my physical health needs and my stress and worries. I know my insurance doesn't cover these visits and I'm not sure if any insurance would cover a visit.
I got a full body massage one hour long. If you have any health issues they listen to you and will work with you. I was very pleased and booked another appointment. When she did my feet and toes it felt wonderful. I have a tight muscle in my shoulder blade which she took extra time with.
My first experience was the best! I'm so happy I went here for my deep tissue massage with Jen, If you're having sciatic nerve problems and any other pains or are stressed and you need to relax and enjoy of a professional massage this is definitely the place to go.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
