From the reviews
…She prepared me for treatment by palpating the areas, scanning for visual imbalances, and cupping my chest and my back. She identified upper body/back weakness, muscular imbalances from carrying my 45lb child on the same side all the time, and misalignment in my cervical spine.
…She is very light and accurate in placing needles on my body and knows to combine acupuncture with cupping, massage, etc according to each diagnosis at the time of visit because our body is constantly changing and healing after each treatment. I highly recommend Julia and Hannah!!
…With Julia’s acupuncture, cupping and massage, I have seen drastic improvement in a short time and have also seen other benefits in my mood and circulation. Throughout treatments, she always ensures I am warm and comfortable. I will continue treatments with her so I can keep experiencing full-body benefits.
I have received acupuncture, cupping and massage at Pleasant Wellness. Julia is always very caring and kind. She listens patiently and asks questions every week, in order to provide the best treatment. I have experienced significant relief of pain in my shoulder and neck as well as have improved range of motion.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
