From the reviews
Dr. Zhou is amazing and treats his patients well. This was my first experience with acupuncture and cupping and he made it super easy. He listens and adjusts treatment based on his patients needs.
Dr Zhou: The Best! Dr. Zhou has been my trusted acupuncturist since I moved to Austin in 2005, and I recommend him with the highest confidence and greatest enthusiasm. Dr. Zhou is expert in his knowledge and practice, compassionate, attentive, experienced, and kind. I am a regular patient of Dr.
I have been going to Dr. Zhou for years off and on for different reasons. I have recommended him so many times over those years to friends and family. He is the first doctor I met that really cares about your overall well being.
Dr. Zhou is an incredible doctor; he has extensive training — and it’s in his blood. His family has practiced for decades. My favorite thing about Dr. Zhou is his bedside manner — it is unmatched. He truly listens to his patients; he aims to fully understand what is going on in the body and in the environment.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
