My experience with Dr Joe has been unreal. I've been dealing with lower back issues my entire life, as well as fluctuating degrees of wrist/elbow pain over the last 7 years. I rock climb and swim multiple times weekly, and my nagging pain became severe enough for me to seek assistance.
I have been working with Joe for months now to treat some running related injuries. He has been a joy to go see and has helped me tremendously with understanding what caused my injuries and how to prevent them in the future.
Dr. Joe is absolutely incredible! He has been helping to relieve persistent tension in my neck and shoulders that have been causing me headaches, and pain/ tightness from my sciatica. Between the dry needling, cupping, and the exercises he gives me to do, I've finally been getting some relief.
Dr. Joe is great to work with and has helped me drastically with so far, only a couple treatments. I felt that he truly listened to me when explaining my issues and knew exactly what areas to treat to resolve them.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
