From the reviews
I was referred to Deven after being diagnosed with herniated discs and having an epidural steroid injection. I was experiencing pain in my lower back and leg as well as numbness in my calf and foot. After working with Deven for the past 7 weeks, I am almost as good as new!
I came under Deven's care after being reffered to by my spine surgeon for post-op physical therapy from a lumbar microdiscectomy, due to a herniated disc that was causing debilitating sciatica.
I recently completed two sessions of physical therapy, and they were incredibly helpful. Deven meticulously designed a series of exercises that progressively built upon each other, effectively improving my mobility.
Deven is definitely one of the world's best PTs, and believe me I've been treated by a good number of PTs for a variety of conditions ranging from shoulder to back to legs. His deep knowledge, experience and most importantly effectiveness of treatment is unparalleled.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
