I can’t recommend Four Branches enough- and so happy for the location near my home after seeing Greg for 10 years in the city. Greg Bell has been a tremendous resource for me over the last decade through a combination of acupuncture, massage and other therapies. One of Greg’s points of differentiation is that he is a great listener and applies different techniques and therapies rather than just a standard “ rote” approach.
Greg has a methodical and simultaneous nurturing approach to healing. He has a unique awareness to the slightest flaws or impairments—even when my discomfort is minor, he is able to find the source and work it out using varying techniques.
I feel blessed to have been referred to Greg. He is a consummate professional and allows me to suggest what he will focus on every visit. His knowledge of anatomy and the array of treatments he employs are unparalleled.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
