From the reviews
Metta is such a sanctuary! The space is a perfect escape from my insanely busy life. I have always been impressed by staff and how they structure the business. Such genuine, diligent people work here! I’ve been going to Esra for massage therapy and cupping for a couple years now and she does not miss.
My massage with Stephanie was wonderful. I'm not sure if it was the state of relaxation, or the scent of the plant oils she used... But at the end, I felt a relaxation reminiscent of childhood. Like the adult stress was gone and I was just tucked in.
In the past I always believed I had to be relatively uncomfortable in order to receive a proper healing service. As someone who regularly has deep tissue massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic it has been mostly a painful experience.
Jennie Herb.. I cannot say enough about this woman/therapist. As cheesy as this sounds, she’s brought me back to life! I came in for relief from a labral tear in my hip back in January, and have been seeing her every week since. Combined with her therapy and PT, i’ve avoided having surgery.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
