From the reviews
My experience at Full Moon Apothocary and Acupuncture has been enlightening and helpful to both my mental and physical self. Originally went to seek help for depression, 'DeepRest'. She has helped me with that and more. One, my cold feet. She has treated me with maucha sp? and my feet are now not cold.
A visit with Martha is like a breath of fresh air, a warm hug, and a spa visit all in one. When I came to her I was struggling with pain that had been misdiagnosed and untreatable for nearly a year. She listened with care and slowly plotted an intentional course of treatment that has nearly eradicated the pain.
When I first came to Martha I had chronic physical and emotional pain, a laundry list of health issues, a needle phobia, and a deep longing to get better. Acupuncture was the last place I turned to for help, assuming it would cause me more emotional trauma than it could heal.
Martha has cultivated such a warm and welcoming environment for people who seek to be in better touch with their bodies and minds and communities. I've gone to Full Moon for acupuncture, and I've also completed one of the Renewal programs as well as the Roots & Rituals program.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
