From the reviews

Just got out of a massage with Jonathan and I have to say it was one of the best massages I have had. I told him what issues I was especially concerned about and he definitely focused on those areas but not, I feel, at the expense of the others.

I am not someone who gets routine or preventative massage work done. Rather, I’m the person who only goes after they’ve somehow hurt themselves and can no longer turn their neck to the left. So, this being the only particular scenario I know, I have nothing but the highest praises for Jonathan at Live Well Be Well.

★★★★★ — Geoffrey, Sep 2022

Jonathan’s massage style is very intuitive. I cannot fully explain how magical and different his massages are. They are done with great care, patience and skill and you can tell he has a lot of pride in his work.

I sought Live Well Be Well's help a year ago (to address muscle tension and headaches) and met Jonathan Hancock, RMP. I've worked with 4 other massage therapists in the area over the past 10 years, but this is the most targeted, effective treatment I have experienced.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
