From the reviews

I have been seeing Alexandra McElwee at Mend off and on for several years in times of need, or if a ‘tune-up’ is needed. She’s wonderful - listens well, is patient, and comprehensive - and I always notice a +change after each of my visits.

★★★★★ — Jenny, Feb 2026

I’ve been receiving acupuncture at MEND for some time and appreciate the care and professionalism of my providers, especially Dr. Ferguson. She’s the best! Today I had my first massage there. Rachel Aymold did a superb job listening to my needs and addressing them with kindness and warmth.

★★★★★ — Shelly, Jan 2026

Peaceful environment with professional staff. It was my first acupuncture experience and it was just what I expected. I saw a difference in pain within the first 10 mins. It was gone when the needles were removed. Danni was kind, professional and empathic. Great experience for pain that has been with me a long time.

★★★★★ — Dr., Oct 2025

Dr. Julia was very nice. She understood why I came in for a treatment. Felt better after the acupuncture. Plan to come back again. The place is in a nice area with parking. Very clean and great ambiance.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
