From the reviews

Matt is the absolute BEST! I have a range of GI issues, allergy and sinus problems, back and knee pain, and a few other quirky conditions. When I first went to Matt for treatment, I was in really rough shape.

★★★★★ — Joanne, Nov 2025

After relocating to State College, I contacted Matt to help with my very bad allergies and asthma symptoms triggered by all of the new trees and plants here. I had used acupuncture in the past with success and was hopeful it would work again. I am very impressed with Matt.

★★★★★ — Mary, Jun 2023

Matt is an amazing acupuncturist. I have been to others, and Matt is by far the best. He is extremely knowledgeable about acupuncture, as well as other holistic healing techniques. Matt has a calming and healing energy, and he is really easy to talk to about any issue you might be having.

★★★★★ — Sarah, Mar 2024

Matt is outstanding. No matter what issue I am having, he is always able to pick up on what my body needs and is lacking at the moment. He is extremely knowledgeable and his knowledge extends far beyond acupuncture to include many other aspects of healing as well.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
