From the reviews
Ying and her skills are a find. A majority of her training took place in China where the same techniques for cupping, massage, reflexology and acupuncture have been used for centuries largely unchanged. I was experiencing increasing lower back pain this past summer.
The Mandarin Healing Spa is honestly exactly that. I had been feeling really down because of a lingering cold. My body was very achy and I just could shake it. I decided to go see Ying for cupping, and it absolutely healed me.
Ying is the best massage therapist I’ve ever had. I have back and/or shoulder pain from sitting too long at a desk. I highly recommend this place to anyone suffering from the same issues. Ying does a great job every time and she provides personalized experience.
All I can say is wow. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time based on the reviews & this was the best massages we have ever had. The back walking was amazing. I was nervous about cupping but it actually felt so nice. Very very professional and friendly the masseuse is funny and has great conversation.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
