From the reviews
Mary has a unique approach. She has a wonderful way of blending techniques. I especially enjoy how she incorporates specialized treatments like cupping, Gua Sha and hot stones into her bodywork sessions. She is focused, present and tuned into the tissues and energy flow of my body.
Mary, owner of “Luna Blue,” brings talent, intelligence, and experience to the techniques she uses in her massage work, including hot stone, myofacial, Swedish, cupping, and my recent favorite, craniosacral.
15/10. I booked a 60 min Thai Massage, not knowing what to really expect. Half way through I wished I'd booked a 90 min. Mary has a wonderful technique; I didn't leave feeling bruised and sore like I always do after a typical massage, instead I just felt like my body was looser and there was more space in my body.
I have had many massages in my 42 years, due to back/neck/shoulder pain, tmd, and migraines. I didn’t know much about Craniosacral therapy until recently, and I always thought the more painful a massage, the more therapeutic.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
