Why Advanced Acupuncture & Pain Management Clinic is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “cupuncture is just one of many modalities used in TCM in order to treat an individual. Other modalities that don't involve the use of acupuncture needles are acupressure , auricular ear seeds , Chinese herbal medicine , cupping therapy ,…” source →

From the reviews

I have been struggling with chronic pain since I was 13 years old. I've tried several bouts of chiropractic care, many physical therapy sessions, exercise, pain medication, special diet, etc and nothing helped. I started researching and came across acupuncture.

I have been an insomniac for going on fifteen years. After years of cycling through every prescription sleep med, herbal remedy and over the counter sleep aid, having a sleep study, completing Cognitive Behavioral Sleep Therapy, buying high end bedding and ultimately a separate bed from my husband, I was at my wits…

★★★★★ — Sara, Jun 2014

I started seeing Dave at Advanced Acupuncture in October of 15 and it has been a great success. Without getting into too personal details, he was able to give me back a high quality life. His bed side manner is incredible, he is exteremly personable and will bend over backwards for his clients.

★★★★★ — Madeline, Jul 2016

Dave has helped greatly with my lower back, hip and leg pain. I look forward to my appointments and trust Dave who has a large wealth of knowledge. My 27 year old son has started going and feels so much better. He said that acupuncture has helped in ways that traditional ways have not been able to.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
