From the reviews
I’ve been seeing Dr Dabu since early 2020 after suffering two miscarriages, and she has truly been a blessing in my healing journey. Not only did she help me physically get back on track for pregnancy, but she supported my emotional well-being every step of the way.
This location was recommended to me by a couple friends who also shared their experiences. I had a great experience at Lotus. It was my first time and I felt comfortable and relaxed. I went for distressing, and had a noticeable reaction of change or I felt more calm, collected, less anxious, and distressed.
Do not hesitate to go to Lotus Acupuncture. Everyone is so kind, caring, and compassionate and they foster an environment of welcoming, calm, and healing. No matter which doctor you see, you are sure to be in good hands. I cannot recommend them enough. They have helped me and family and friends, too.
Dr. Roger has changed my life. He’s very straightforward about services and no woowoo talk. His acupuncture services have helped in immeasurably for anxiety and stress. Truly changed something I just thought I’d have to live with, and have for over 15 years, but has shown me that there’s another way to live.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Lotus Acupuncture and Holistic Health Clinic
Lotus Acupuncture and Holistic Health Clinic comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
