It's been going to Travis for over a year now and he's great. I have weird insurance and he took the time to look into it and make it work. The acupuncture helps me relax from a stressful job. I love that Travis likes to keep up on his practice and is often doing continuing education.
Lauren Howell is the most amazing acupuncturist I’ve ever been to. I can’t even begin to say how strongly I recommend her. I see her and tell her exactly what I’m having problems with and she treats that specific thing; both with regular acupuncture and with tacks or massage or cupping.
I Just moved to Idaho and was looking for a new acupuncturist. My first visit to Living Wellness was a great experience! Travis really listened to what was going on with my body, and asked a lot of questions to see what course of action we should take.
I couldn't relax and was going down the autoimmune and hormone imbalance paths with lots of inflammation. It turns out my nervous/muscle system was stuck in hold/ freeze since 2002. Travis got it to release. He used rose spray, gently voiced instructions, cupping, and acupuncture.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
