Why Left Hand Community Acupuncture is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ger areas of the body, such as backs, shoulders, hips and thighs. Fingers, hands, feet, knees are usually not good areas for cupping. If you are fatigued or weak, cupping is probably not a good choice.** Ask Caroline if cupping is a good…” source →

From the reviews

Strong hippie vibe here, which I loved. I aspire to someday be able to embrace my inner zen but I'm a driven, travel all the time, high stress business woman. Due to my reality, I've messed up my shoulder something fierce.

I have never used or even considered acupuncture for some of the issue I have. Then I was like, it won't hurt to try it out... it's be done thousands of years with very positive results. So I found Left Hand Community Acupuncture on Google. I set up a next day appointment.

Caroline and the rest of the staff are amazing! They are so helpful and kind, every single time. I have suffered with depression for years and the treatments I receive, twice a week here, have dramatically helped my condition. I also had severe pain in my feet from poor shoes being worn in the service industry.

I've been to all 3 locations in which Left Hand has operated and I think they keep getting better. The care has always been stellar and the atmosphere always calm. But this new location is the best yet. More room. Better aesthetics.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
