“I have some injuries that make my neck and back fairly tight and reduce my range of motion.”
“I never got a massage before so I was a little nervous, but Maddie was great.”
From the reviews
As a recent transplant to Pittsburgh from the east coast, I can say Maddie - at Knot Now, Not Later, is one of the best masseuse I have experienced. (and I have got massages in New York, New Jersey, Europe, Turkey, India and more).
I am hooked; a new and returning customer. First of all, who doesn't love a good pun?? Maddie's fresh approach utilizes various format of massage depending on client needs (cupping, reflexology, etc). I have chronic left-side TMJ issues that plague me with neck, shoulder, and back pain.
I only have great things to say about Maddi. This was hands down the best massage I've had. I had my appointment with her on 10/19, and am still feeling amazing. I've had other massages before where I felt good for a few hours after, but then the aches would soon return.
If you're looking for a massage therapist who will truly listen and cater to your needs, look no further! I am a genderqueer, neurodivergent person who suffers from chronic myofascial pain, arthritis, CPTSD "armoring," migraines, and more -- all of that to say, my body is STIFF and I struggle with allowing anyone to…
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
