I've been getting treatment at Wake Forest Physical Therapy since 2017. I've had 5 surgeries during this time on my both hips, left shoulder(two times) and my cervical spine. I highly recommend this facility. The staff is amazing.

I can't say enough about Jamie and the staff at WF PT- I came to her after approximately 18 months of hip pain- was evaluated by a hip specialist and had an MRI and no one could come up with a diagnosis- Jamie began dry needling me and I am thrilled to say after seeing her every two weeks for 6 months I am completely…

I am so happy with my PT and my personal therapist! Justin is knowledgeable and very patient. Not to mention, he’s so kind. I’m recovering from total knee replacement surgery and have been coming here since 4 days post-surgery. With their help I have made significant progress and they continue to cheer me on every day!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
