Why Kang Eastern Medicine Spa is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “3 years ago, I didn't expect much because I knew eastern treatment would take time to get improvement. In my first visit, Dr. Kang spent a lot time for consultation before the treatment. Then she gave me acupuncture and cupping in the…” source →

From the reviews

I tried Kang Eastern medicine for the first time today lymphatic massage. Robert Recalde took time to answer my questions before proceeding with the session. I have to say this is one of the best massages I have received in recent years! Robert is a professional, well trained masseuse and I highly highly recommend him.

I love my membership, Yuen is a wonderful massage therapist. I have gotten lymphatic and gua sha treatments and both work great.

Lamin is an amazing massage therapist. I had several tight knots on my back and neck. He worked those out and even found places I didn’t know were tight. End result was that I feel like I am standing straight and walking better that ever. All that from just one session. That doesn’t happen often.

My acupuncture treatments ended years long battle with pain in my right hip. I am thankful for Dr Kang!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
