From the reviews
As a fairly active guy (hiking, running, etc), I often get minor strains, bruises and muscle pulls. Last year, while finishing marathon training, I tweaked something in my back that was going to keep me from running on race day. Luckily, I was able to ask Jay for assistance.
I injured my back at work and because of his well deserved positive reviews, I found Jay! I knew as soon as I entered his comforting Zen like office I had made the right decision.. Jay's genuine concern and attentiveness were beyond impressive.. He's been treating my back for approximately 6 weeks..
Jay Guanci is absolutely amazing. I’ve been suffering with chronic pain and severe tennis elbow for about four years and nothing I did worked. I tried physical therapy. I’ve seen a chiropractor.
I never received an accupunture treatment and was referred to Jay by family and friends for a knee injury. After a couple of visits with Jay I feel very comfortable with his expertise in accupuncture. Jay listens and asks questions before offering suggestions making me feel like my needs are being addressed.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
