What clients say about the cupping here
“My primary therapist Candice patiently helped me to advance from my initial status of using a walker for mobility to my current one of non assisted mobility.”
“Emily is very professional and really knows what she is doing, and don't let Manny trick you, he seems very serious but he is a jokester at heart.”
“They listen very intently to my issues to come up with a plan to relieve my knee pain and every time I walk out of the facility, my knee feels better.”
“I particularly appreciated that they took time to understand my needs and tailored the regimen to fit the particular sports and activities that I was trying to get back to.”
“Today was my first visit at Baystate and from the moment I walked in I had a great experience.”
From the reviews
I had a great experience at Bay State Physical Therapy Reading after suffering a hamstring injury. I was eager to get back to playing hockey, and the team here was instrumental in my recovery. From my first visit, I found the facility to be clean and welcoming.
I worked with Manny for months to regain strength in my shoulder after a fall and probable torn rotator cuff. He was excellent; in fact, I had sessions with several different therapists over my time at Bay State, and the entire team was outstanding.
Staff at the Reading MA branch are exceptional. My primary therapist Candice patiently helped me to advance from my initial status of using a walker for mobility to my current one of non assisted mobility. She treated me for left leg tibia/fibula with 2 broken bones.
The teamwork in this physical therapy practice is impressive, from the scheduling of appointments, to the case management. I recently worked with Manny to relieve a knee issue I was having, and he is so friendly and competent. But I also had appointments with Candace and Emily, and they were also excellent.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
