What clients say about the cupping here
“Gao is by far one of the most competent and caring medical professional I have ever dealt with.”
From the reviews
Dr, Gao changed my life. I was told by a few orthopedic doctors to deal with my diagnosis and accept pain pills and the inevitable life with a walker and eventually a wheelchair. The pain in my back was unbelievable and I was feeling overwhelmed and depressed that my life had taken this turn.
Saw Dr. Gao in 2019. She prescribed me a TCM medicine that worked really well for me to treat my anxiety and depression. Edit: Went again today(04/10/2023). Dr. Gao is great!! I would recommend her to anyone.
Grace Gao was trained and worked in a very famous Chinese Medicine Hospital. She had years of Chinese medicine experience including acupuncture experience before she came to the United States. She is a renowned Chinese medicine doctor in China.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this clinic. The staff is warm and welcoming, and my practitioner took time to understand my concerns, explaining each part of the treatment. The acupuncture sessions have helped improve my energy, sleep, and pain in ways I didn’t think possible.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
