What clients say about the cupping here
“Jannie has helped me so much with my neck tightness due to stress.”
“The orthopedist couldn’t help me, and the physical therapy the doctor prescribed was expensive and not very effective, so I came to see the professionals at Houston Acupuncture and Herb.”
“If you listen to her and follow her diet plan and go to your weekly appointments, your life will change for the better.”
“The images were clean so he suggested I do physical therapy twice a week for a minimum of two months.”
From the reviews
Janie is a health professional I look forward to seeing. Aside from being optimistic, friendly and good humored, Janie is thorough in her evaluation and the care she provides.
I love this place and my acupuncturist. She Is the best. She's funny, professional, doesn't mind explaining and really listens to patient concerns. I've been a client in the Holcomb location over 7 years now. Yeah parking sucks but the treatment us worth the minor aggravation.
Dr. Jannie Is one of the sweetest women I have ever met. She is very thorough and you can tell she really cares about you as a patient. I woke up with shoulder pain that radiated down my arm from a pinched nerve one day and for weeks it was unbearable and I talked to my nurse at the school I worked at she told me it…
I suffer from neck pain and lower back pain. My doctor requested MRI done on both areas as well as X-Rays. The images were clean so he suggested I do physical therapy twice a week for a minimum of two months. After the 16 sessions, I noticed no benefit and no improvement.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
