From the reviews

What a fantastic experience. First, Shannon's professionalism throughout the entire appointment was top notch. Second, she made sure to keep communicating what she was doing and how I responded to it. She offered a large variety of treatments to help with my upper back pain and stiffness.

★★★★★ — Matthew, Jun 2022

I’ve had two treatments with Shannon so far, and I can’t recommend her enough. I chose an integrative session, and she truly tailored everything to exactly what my body needed that day. She incorporated cupping, massage, reiki, craniosacral therapy, and lymphatic drainage — and the combination was incredible.

★★★★★ — Angela, Feb 2026

Shannon is one of the most caring, knowledgeable and skilled Licensed Massage Therapists I know. Holistic BodyWorks for Women is in a convenient location and her space is very healing.

★★★★★ — Lauren, Aug 2023

Shannon was fabulous. Knowledgeable, calm, informative. I left feeling so wonderful. She added some cupping but not cup in one place but rather moving it around. It felt great and I hope it will have a longer lasting impact to my tight shoulders and neck than deep tissue massage.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
