What clients say about the cupping here
“Valerie is very knowledgeable, professional, and knows how to address the problem areas.”
From the reviews
Tom is the best. He's an amazing massage therapist. You tell him where your problem areas are and he works very hard to have you feeling much better. The cups are a bit intense but very well worth it in the end. I highly recommend Tom, he's aware of my physical limits. Bilateral carpel tunnel he does amazing work with.
I had my first ever massage with Valerie and I can't wait to come back. I've been having a lot of lower back pain that amped up when I started practicing yoga. Within 1 minute Valerie was able to figure out what was going on with me.
First and foremost, I love getting massages and she is the reason I love them even more. That brings a problem when I travel, but I am very loyal to Val, as she knows exactly what to do and does what your body needs.
Valerie takes the time to understand your issues and tailors her techniques to work on your specific problem. I came in with a sore knee, and left feeling much better.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
