From the reviews
Dr. Spencer is everything I was looking for in someone to help me feel my best while doing what I love - running, more specifically, training for the Boston Marathon. When most people think of a chiropractor they think of someone who offers adjustments and exercises to help assist in making your body feel better. Dr.
I started seeing Dr. Spencer at Great North Athletics Chiropractic Clinic for a running injury, and right from the start he was incredibly informative, caring, and attentive to my needs and goals as a runner. Later on, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and both Dr. Spencer and Dr.
My experience with Dr. Spencer has been overwhelmingly positive. I experienced an IT band issue and tried the RICE method of caring for my injury, just to find the pain coming back after a couple of runs. I knew then I needed help from a professional and decided to schedule a consultation with Dr. Spencer.
The team is super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. I came in for a series of sessions to help with plantar fasciitis and left feeling so much better and with the clarity and knowledge of how to keep running strong.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
