I really miss this lady. Since moving across the country, I haven’t been able to find another acupuncture specialist like her. She consistently went above and beyond with her central nervous system work and cupping therapy. I truly wish I had someone with her skill and care where I am now.
Dr. Liu-Swartz does miracles! A patient that had a stroke 13 years ago has been now able to have control of her arms, and even WALK again!! Dr.Liu-swartz is super understanding and such an amazing person inside and out. She truly wants to just help people that need the help.
Never had tried acupuncture before but I had bad pain due to a pinched nerve in my neck. Not a fan of drug therapy for pain relief so I thought I'd try this clinic. Dr Liu is amazing. Very kind. Takes the time to evaluate and treat with the goal of healing, unlike other medical options.
I highly recommend Good Sheperd Acupuncture. Dr. Liu-Swartz is compassionate and committed to helping you feel better. Nita is delightful as well! I feel truly cared for here and have been very pleasantly surprised at how much of an impact acupuncture has made on my overall health (I was a bit of a skeptic).
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
