From the reviews

Fannie is a superstar! She is calm, understanding, and patient, not to mention funny as heck, and GREAT at her job. I go to her for acupuncture, dry needling (this HURTS but boy will that knot be gone in a flash), and herbs, and I always leave floating on a cloud.

★★★★★ — Rachel, May 2023

I wish I could give six stars! Fannie at Flying Turtle Healing Arts is above and beyond! I have been to many acupuncturists and she is by far the best. She has helped me regain control over some neurological disorders that other practitioners, including other acupuncturists, have not been able to help with.

★★★★★ — Eli, Apr 2023

I've been going to Fannie for over 5 years now, and I will probably continue to go as long as I live in the Boston area. I first came to her after a life changing car accident injured my back and neck to the point of consistent, intolerable pain.

★★★★★ — Frank, Jun 2022

Fannie is a gem of a practitioner, and I’ve been going to her on and off for a whole litany of issues for about seven years. She is friendly and communicative, welcoming and warm, clean and professional.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
