From the reviews

I started going to Energy Matters seeking relief from a pinched nerve. My acupuncture / cupping sessions with Mandy made a huge difference decreasing my pain and other symptoms. While I still ended up having surgery, my treatments diminished pain prior to surgery and has significantly enhanced my recovery.

★★★★★ — Wendy, Jul 2025

Getting acupuncture seemed to be the last straw for pain management due to RA and my L5 S1 back issues. My MD suggested acupuncture but I didn’t jump on the idea, until I was out of options that were acceptable to me. There had to be something left to do, besides surgery.

I have been a patient of Kirstin Linquist, acupuncturist for many years. I appreciate that she is a skilled listener, a skilled practioner and takes the time to mull over why I've come in for a treatment.

★★★★★ — Suzanne, Oct 2025

As I came to terms with the reality of aging, I decided to try something new. I began researching the benefits of acupuncture and found Energy Matters. I have been receiving treatment for over a year and I can honestly feel the difference.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
