Why Piedmont Bodywork is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “Unlike Trigger Point massage, it focuses on broader fascial tissues instead of isolated knots. Gentle, sustained pressure helps release tension, potentially improving range of motion and reducing chronic pain. Book Now Cupping and…” source →

From the reviews

For years, Miguel has been my go-to practitioner for chronic TMJ pain and migraines. Miguel is an expert in deep trigger point release, which has given me more relief than any other massage. He is also a specialist in oral work, which is rare to find.

★★★★★ — Elizabeth, Aug 2023

Miguel is a very skilled and knowledgeable massage therapist. Since seeing him, my body is more flexible. The difference in my hips and alignment and posture is very noticeable. He not only gives me deep tissue massage, but also works on slowly and steadily stretching my tight muscles.

★★★★★ — Stephanie, Jul 2019

Miguel has been instrumental in helping me manage chronic migraines & neck pain. I have seen dozens of massage therapists & body workers throughout the years and have finally found the best. He understands the human body very well & truly cares about his work and the impact it has.

★★★★★ — Carly, Jun 2021

Miguel has been an absolute angel for me. I have been suffering from chronic pain and go to see him as frequently as I can to feel at peace, help reduce my pain and relaxed. His touch is very caring and my anxieties and worries melt away while I'm getting my massage.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
