I was referred to Empower by my doctor because I was experiencing severe hip pain that had gotten so bad I couldn’t even sleep at night. My experience with Empower has truly been life-changing. Cynthia, the physical therapist I worked with, was incredibly attentive and took the time to understand my needs.
The entire staffing from the receptionist to the volunteers are extremely helpful, resourceful, informative, professional and extremely patient. The physical therapist are passionate on their on their chosen profession and are elated in seeing thier patients make full recovery from their injury.
I had an outstanding experience with Dr. Jacob and his team at Empower Physical Therapy in Chino. From the first visit, Dr. Jacob took time to listen to my concern, thoroughly asses my condition, and explained the treatment plan. I had right knee injury and was unable to put weight on it.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
