Love Elements in San Mateo! Every masseuse I have been to has given an excellent massage (though of course I have my favorites) and the membership is a great deal.
This was such an amazing deep tissue massage! Sofia found all of my knots in the upper back and shoulders and spent a good amount of time working on them. The massage was relaxing and the space was clean, staff was very friendly! I called about an hour ahead and they were able to squeeze me in at the last minute.
Their service is top notch and the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. You get a separate room for massage and sound isolation is great - you don’t hear any other noises. Had massage with Ginger and omg she was amazing! I felt like a new person after just 1 hour session.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
