Dr. Alise is fantastic at listening to what your personal health issues or goals are, and helping you move the needle (pun intended). I've been going to Elemental Acupuncture for a couple of years now.
This was my second time receiving acupuncture. The first time was in 2023 in Raleigh with a different acupuncturist. This time around I selected a local acupuncturist and I’ve made the best decision selecting Dr B. I read her reviews and she lived to the 4.8 reviews.
I was having extreme lower back pain. I had pulled a muscle and strained my back to the point I could not even stand up straight or walk straight and anyway I moved I was in pain to the point tears were coming out of my eyes.
I was extremely pleased to find this practice and be treated by Dr. Beccaria. Told by another physician I just had arthritis in my knees I explained I thought I had a torn meniscus and was still in pain after several months. Dr. Beccaria listened thoroughly, was patient & explained her treatment.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
