I wanted to come home and quickly write this review before I get distracted and not let others know about the remarkable service I have received at Dr. Mendoza's chiropractic office.
Dr. Mendoza and staff are amazing. They have helped me get back to exercising with limited pain. From the front desk, to the side, the massage therapist (Olga is the best) to Dr. Mendoza and Dr. Angel. Very informative and caring. No doubt this is where you want to go for treatment.
I had my first visit 8/13. I have the traditional “commuter pains” neck and back. I appreciated the layer approach to my treatment which included electrical current work and massage along with the traditional alignment process. The final step was a hot/cold vest. Initially, I met with Dr. Alfaro.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
