I have been seeing Michelle for neck, back and left shoulder pain. I do not handle pain medications well and Michelle has been able to provide me relief from pain with each and every visit! I was fairly new to acupuncture when I first met Michelle and she was and still is very patient with explaining the process to me.
After years of struggling with infertility issues, my husband and I decided to embark on IVF to give us the best chance of starting a family. We ran into some problems with the thickness of my uterine lining being insufficient to accept an embryo for implantation.
My husband was involved in a motor vehicle accident in 2020. He was under the care of Doctors/pain management Doctors, he had Epidural injections on two separate occasions. He’s also tried prescription and over-the-counter medication. Without much success he was then referred to Michelle Maggio.
I started treatments with Michelle in March for frequent vertigo attacks, headaches, and anxiety. She provided an in-depth consultation taking the time to get to know me. I felt comfortable right away. She believed my health issues were connected and focused on moving my energy down towards my feet.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
