From the reviews

This is the first time I committed to acupuncture, I didn't know much about acupuncture and had mixed feeling. Now that I have been coming consistently for the last month, I cannot belive the results. I went in because I had some pain in my shoulder and forearm. The results have been excellent.

My husband has a eye problem. After doctors told him they could do nothing but wait. I called an acupuncture clinic they told me they would recommend Dr. Chapa. He started us on the detox. After 3 days on the plan we began to feel fantastic. Then he did acupuncture with his staff for two weeks every day on my husband.

Dr. Chapa prescribed me herbs for my gallstone diagnosis. A few weeks later the sonogram showed the gallstone was no longer there. I am glad I took the chance to try holistic medicine before having gallbladder surgery. I would definitely recommend to family. I was referred by my own cousin to visit him.

I just had a privilege of meeting Dr. Chapa and his team. I don’t have enough words to describe how impressed I am with the way the clinic is organized, and with the knowledge and experience of Dr. Chapa. What impressed me the most was Dr.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
