From the reviews
Dr Graves & the staff made me feel welcome & cared for. Dr Graves listened closely to my concerns. He explained the process he would do to relieve & help reduce the lingering discomfort & pain I am experiencing. I felt comfortable with the new experience.
I had acupuncture and cupping today for the first time in over 15 years and I am so happy that I went to Dr Graves for it! He is great at communicating and makes you feel comfortable. He made sure I knew to tell him if anything was too intense or painful, luckily it didn't get to that point.
Update: It's now 11/2022 and Dr. Graves is our family doctor. He kindly offered a phone appointment and much needed support today as I'm navigating through Covid.
Dr Graves is an awesome Naturopathic Doctor! He is knowledgeable, patient, always willing to listen and compassionate. He has treated me for stomach ailments, and thyroid related stress and other problems including seasonal allergies with supplements and acupuncture and it helped me to a great extent.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
