From the reviews
I initially started seeing Jessica around 5 years ago when she was practicing in NYC. I'd tried a number of Chinese doctors over many years and almost-always came away disappointed (my doctor back in Australia, I realized, had set a very high bar!).
This was my second acupuncture and it was perfectly lovely. It was followed by cupping, which is a new experience for me, and one that refreshed my entire system. I felt relaxed and rejuvenated. After two sessions a week a apart, I feel more balanced and calm and able to approach the world with deeper awareness.
Saw Jessica yesterday as I have been experiencing back pain for the past month. I received acupunture/cupping and today my back is almost completely better. Jessica is very personable, professional and experienced. Would definitely go back. Thanks!
My Fiance was having back pain and has never been to an acupuncturist. He said it was such a pleasant experience and was made comfortable by the environment and the step by step explanation of the process. He said Dr. Crofts is a pro and scheduled two more appointments next week.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
