After years of care at CPTE in Merrimack, NH, I can say without a doubt that this is my go-to for caring for my injuries and degenerative issues (I usually call CPTE before making a doctor's appointment if it's something I think they can fix).
It was a year ago that I had a lower back fusion and because of my discomfort I didn’t start PT until 6 months later at a different physical therapy organization . After six weeks and no good results I made an appointment with CPTE in Merrimack NH.
I was referred to Zach with extreme shoulder pain that was making every part of daily life extremely difficult. I left several weeks later with my shoulder feeling better than it has felt in literally years. Zach was very easy to get along with, while managing to provide excellent care.
Before my first visit to CPTE Physical Therapy in Merrimack, NH, I relied on OTC pain relievers to reduce my 6/10 pain to 2/10. After my first visit, my pain naturally reduced to 2/10, and I was able to stop taking OTC pain relievers entirely.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
