From the reviews
…I’ve seen Maryam for acupuncture, cupping and gua sha before and I’m thrilled I can come and see her at her new spot! The work she does has significantly helped my neck and shoulder pain. She cares a lot about her work, making sure to educate you on how your body is responding and what it’s showing as she goes.
Maryam had treated me for many years, as such I have followed her and am thrilled she now has her own beautiful practice. She is gentle, intuitive and holistic, and is focused on the overall wellness of the patient. The office is light, breezy and modern, with loads of easy parking. Highly recommend.
I have recently started going to Connection Wellness. I am amazed at the response my body has given. These Dr's know what they are doing. I see Catherine. My Mom sees Maryam would highly recommend going if you've been injured or not. The release of tension is incredible.
Catherine and Maryam have been very supportive and thoughtful in my journey towards health and healing. Excellent listeners and respectful of my choices; they are definitely 5 star quality! Thank you both!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
