I have been to a chiropractor before and I'm not bashing the other guy. He was just you walk in, you get cracked and you walked out. I was having severe pain in my shoulder. I went to a doctor's office and they prescribed me medicine for it. It didn't work.
Dr. Oakley is very thorough and listens to all of your needs (even asks to know all of your needs). This is not a get you in and out fast chiro office so it's that's what you're used to, you're in for a surprise. The care was thorough, customizable and no pressure to sign up for crazy expensive plans.
The chiropractor was the best knowledgeable chiropractor I’ve ever seen. I had to take my teenage grandson to him to see if he could help him. It was either the emergency room or chiropractor. Thank goodness he had time to help him when we just walked in. Cost was acceptable too.
Finally made an appointment to get checked out! Absolutely amazing. Way more than I expected (first chiro trip in years). Already feel better. Dr. Mike was super insightful on what was happening in my old body. Pushed all the right buttons, looking forward to next appointment!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
