“I've seen other Chinese Medicine Practitioners and their knowledge, expertise and skill (specifically pulse diagnosis) pale in comparison to him.”

From the reviews

I didn’t believe in acupuncture until I injured my back (herniated discs) about a dozen years ago on vacation. Since that time, when two Acu treatments allowed me to get out of the hotel bed and actually enjoy the balance of the trip, I’ve been a true believer in Eastern Medicine (as a supplement to Western).

★★★★★ — Brian, Sep 2023

I really feel that Ross is world class at what he does. I've seen other Chinese Medicine Practitioners and their knowledge, expertise and skill (specifically pulse diagnosis) pale in comparison to him.

★★★★★ — Joe, Sep 2024

Ross Rosen helped my daughter recover from what the top experts diagnosed as "a classic case of narcolepsy," when they said there was no cure. He has helped me enormously physically, emotionally and spiritually with heart shock. He has helped my husband with the issues related to Meniere's Disease.

★★★★★ — Ellie, Oct 2023

I’ve really enjoyed my sessions at Center for Acupuncture because it’s improving my life physically and mentally, but also because it’s helping me approach the changes in my body by thinking about them in different ways.

Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Center for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine

Center for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
