Just absolutely incredible. Every massage therapist is extremely talented. The owners are warm and kind. For a student like me, it sometimes feels like the weight of my entire future is on my shoulders. For just an hour or two, I can have that stress quiet. Blaine was incredible. I had severe neck and back pain so he asked me several questions before beginning my session. His experience and knowledge of myofascial techniques were exactly what I needed to address the pain and release the tension.
I tried a couple of different massage therapists here and landed with Joy. What someone wants in a massage is going to vary person to person, and Joy's technique is a perfect fit for me. Somehow they manage to work out my very tight muscles without it being a painful experience.
This was my first time doing an actual massage! I moved just the day before so my upper body was super sore. Jennifer helped me out with loosening my shoulder blades and neck with some unique massages! She has sports medicine massage practice so if you’re ever sore from exercise she’s a go to!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
