From the reviews
I met Heidi five years ago after a friend recommended her acupuncture services as a way to relieve my chronic lower back pain, sciatic pain, and high anxiety. I had tried other acupuncturists, but Heidi is special and I have never looked back!
If I can give Heidi more than 5 stars it would be 10!!!! Heidi is exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable in her practice. Every session I’ve had with Heidi is a perfect mix of acupuncture, cupping, and gasha.
Heidi is one of a kind. I have been doing acupuncture for years now for my femoral nerve pain/numbness, and her style (Japanese palpation) was the first type that has started to heal the root of the issue. I felt relief in my very first session, which has never happened with more traditional acupuncture.
I can't recommend Heidi highly enough! I started seeing her a few months back to address an old shoulder injury that didn't heal correctly. I've made more progress in the few months seeing her than I did in all the years that I spent before her trying to fix it.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
