I had a great experience at Blue Jean Acupuncture in Pasadena and wanted to share my results. I’ve been dealing with what felt like a pinched nerve, which was causing significant numbness down my left arm and tingling in my fingers. The team there was excellent.
Been going to this establishment since for over 2 years. I’ve never tried acupuncture prior to this experience but several friends and OBs recommended it - so I gave it a try. When I started my appointments, we were trying to have a baby but we’re not yet successful previously.
I had my first acupuncture session with Roxy yesterday. It was exactly what I needed. She is very knowledgeable and went above and beyond even providing me with some aftercare information regarding my condition. The session itself was relaxing and painless. The office is beautiful, clean, and very serene.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
